Russian Group at Elliot Kindergarten in Tbilisi
The Russian group at Elliot is designed for Russian-speaking families in Tbilisi. Children learn and play in their native language in a warm and caring environment.

Tbilisi has become home to thousands of Russian-speaking families in recent years. Finding a kindergarten in your native language is one of the first practical questions parents face after relocating. At Elliot, the Russian group has been running since the kindergarten opened.
Why does native language matter at preschool age?
Before the age of 6, children build the foundations of speech, thinking, and self-expression. Being forced to communicate in a non-native language during this period creates extra cognitive load and can slow development. Research shows that children who receive early education in their native language actually acquire second languages more effectively later on.
What does a typical day in the Russian group look like?
Teachers in the Russian group communicate with children in Russian throughout the entire day — during lessons, meals, and outdoor time. It is not Russian as a foreign language: it is a fully Russian-speaking environment. The curriculum is built around the early learning programme 'Play' — structured activities delivered through play: creative workshops, music, movement, early literacy, and outdoor games.
Will my child also hear Georgian and English?
Yes — naturally, without pressure. Elliot's three language groups share the same space. Children interact during breaks and joint events, creating an organic multilingual environment. There are no formal Georgian or English lessons within the Russian group, but both languages are part of daily life at the kindergarten.
Fees and what is included
The monthly fee for the Russian (foreign-language) group is 900 GEL. This includes: full day (8:30–19:00), 4–5 meals per day, all programme activities, outdoor play, and weekly photo/video updates for parents. Extra-curricular classes such as ballet, karate, or swimming are available at an additional cost.
